Carlos was a tiny little place where i stopped for a min to try to come out of my East Central TX allerginess a bit more. Sort of refreshingly sparse landscape, population probably in the 100′s for both towns, with lots of farmland. Shiro was a bit more of an extended stop, a tiny bit bigger. The bull in the attached pic was in Carlos I think, while the “Have a Nice Day” was in Shiro, i believe. Either way, was a cool, mostly low traffic day. Biggest drama came from learning to live in harmony with the rumble strip that resided in the tiny shoulder i was riding on. With patience, it worked itself out soon enough. This is also where hills finally started to subside, winds tapered off compared to the consistently harsh winds the day before from Austin-Bryan.
